What is sin? Sin is breaking and rebelling against God’s laws that he has established according to the Holy Bible. Our sins separate us from God and causes us to experience a spiritual death.

4 Ways to Overcome Sin

1.       Holy Spirit - The Holy Spirit lives in us so we must allow him to take full control over our lives. Listen to that voice that speaks, he keeps us from falling into temptation. The Holy Spirit keeps us on the right path to follow Jesus Christ and to remain faithful to his word.

2.       Holy Bible – This book is often over looked or only used when boredom strikes. The Bible should be used every day of our lives. We should be using it to read, study God’s word, take notes, memorize the scriptures, and apply it to our daily lives. The Bible helps us to recognize our sinful nature but also know that we have hope in Jesus Christ, who died for all our sins on the cross.

3.       Prayer – Prayer is communication with God. Prayer is essential to our Christian journey. We must pray daily to overcome temptation and sin.

4.       Church - We need the fellowship of other believers while on this Christian journey. We need people who will encourage us, pray for us, correct us when we are wrong, and give us sound Godly advice.
We should be thankful and grateful God sent his son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our sins, so that we don’t have to experience an eternal death. Today, just take the time give God thanks for the victory over sin and the law.
