It’s easy to praise God when everything is going good in our lives. What about when the bad times come? What do we do?When the sun is shining our way we don’t mind giving praise to the Lord. Oh, but let God not answer our prayer in the way we thought it should go. We stop praising, start complaining and even start to doubt God. All the praise goes out the door. Let’s be real, it’s hard to praise when the rain is pouring into our lives and we can’t see our way through. It’s amazing how we stop praising but God keeps loving us anyhow. He loves us through the good and bad times. God’s love isn’t conditional like our praise is conditional. We have to stop being conditional praisers and move to being unconditional praisers.
Praising God is free of charge. Just look at all he does for us on a daily basis. Take a look back over our lives and see the many things he has brought us through. Many of us wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for his grace and mercy.God is great and greatly to be praised. God is our creator, the maker of heaven and earth. He sent Jesus Christ to save us from our many sins. God is worthy to be praised for all he does for us. We don’t deserve it but he still does it. We owe him all the praise, he owes us nothing. We must understand that whether we choose today to praise him or wait until later know that the scripture says in Philippians 2:10-11 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. (NIV)
Our praise should be joyful which reflects our grateful hearts. We should give praise not for what God does but just for who he is all by himself. We have been set free and delivered from our old lifestyles. Let’s just praise him anyhow!
